Qvale Galleri is the first privately owned gallery specializing in Fine Art Photography in Norway. Founded by the Norwegian photographer Morten Qvale in 2013, the gallery is located in a trendy and highly popular uptown area in Oslo. Our vision is to exhibit important national and international photographers, providing new and interesting diversity to the existing Norwegian art market. Our first solo exhibition with an international photographer, Albert Watson, in May 2014 proved highly successful, demonstrating that there is a substantial rising demand and interest for high-quality fine art photography.

Morten Qvale (born 1957) is known for his fashion, commercial and art photography. In 1983, he started “Tique”, Norway’s first international fashion magazine, where he began his career as a photographer. Qvale has been working as a professional photographer since 1986. As the publisher of Tique, he used every opportunity to assist the master-photographers, such as Guy Bourdin, Bill King and Terence Donovan, whom he hired to learn the trade. He soon developed and perfected his own style, and started to shoot for the magazine himself. Today Morten Qvale is known for his attention to detail and strong compositional skills.
