Laurent Herschtritt was born in 1970. Son of the famous reporter-photographer Léon Herschtritt, he grew up in the most famous photographer’s workshops, allowing him to sharpen his eye in contact with the big names of the 8th Art, such as Robert Doisneau, Sabine Weiss, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Jeanloup Sieff, Willy Ronis ... After studying art history, Laurent Herschtritt founded his first photo gallery in 1992 at the Paul Bert market at the Puces de Saint-Ouen, where he shows the work of masters of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. In 1998, he opened a new photo gallery in Saint-Germain-des-Prés taking part in various international exhibitions: Paris Photo, The Aipad Photography Show in New York, Art Brussels, The Pavillon des Antiquaires... whereof he organized different successful exhibitions: trips of Napoleon III immortalized by Gustave Le Gray to the electric pylons of Alexander Vitkine under the Pompidou era, through the romantic life of the Countess of Castiglione, queen of the Tuileries, to the legendary sculptures of Auguste Rodin taken under the light of Jean-François Limet, skater of the artist. His gallery is well known from international collectors to photo cognoscenti as the address where is found "the sure values ​​of photography" (Libération, July 2000). In 2001, Laurent Herschtritt was nominated expert on the world's first sale of photojournalism. It is at the time that he also passes on the other side of the camera. Passionate about the Mediterranean, his colors and lights, he photographs today its landscapes, the old habors, the classic regattas. He also experiments with more contemporary photographic works from old-fashioned hulls. For several years, he has exhibited his work during cultural events in the port cities of the French Riviera, in Toulon, Le Brusc, Sanary-sur-Mer or Saint-Tropez…
